Nespresso Coffee Machines
The Essenza Mini is a great option if you're looking to make your favourite coffee drinks at home but don't have a lot of counter space. It's the smallest espresso machine that still makes great tasting espresso.
All Nespresso machines require regular descaling, which removes internal mineral buildup. They notify you when it's time to descale, and can usually be easily cleaned.
1. OriginalLine
OriginalLine is the Nespresso's most popular line that uses hermetically sealed pods. They are the most affordable and can make espresso and coffee. They also have a wider variety of drinks and capsules than VertuoLine. However, if you're looking for larger drinks, you'll want to choose the VertuoLine line instead.
The VertuoLine uses newer techniques and specifications to give superior performance over the OriginalLine. They offer a wider range of brew sizes like 0.85 ounces for ristretto and 1.35 ounces for double espresso. They also have a speedier process called centrifusion which rotates the pod at 7,000 RPM, allowing more water to pass through to ensure better extraction.
Alongside improving the technology, VertuoLine has also increased the number of reusable capsules they sell and introduced an environmentally friendly packaging system. They currently use 80% recycled aluminum for their coffee capsules, and are committed to increasing the amount of recycled and low carbon virgin aluminum in their future products.
The Lattissima Pro is one of the top-performing nespresso machines available. It features a touchscreen that lets you customize the settings. It also has a quick heating time. It also comes with an impressive steaming wand for creating a café-like foam and milk texture. It may not be as compact as other nespresso machines but it is easy to clean and has a removable capsule container.
2. Vertuoline
The Vertuoline is a brand new addition to the Nespresso lineup. It has a sleek and minimalist design and is the only machine in the lineup to make both espresso and coffee. It also has a built-in mixer for milk. This is a great choice for people who drink many black drinks but do not want to go through the hassle of preparing them separately.
Vertuoline machines use a different pod system that is different from the OriginalLine. The pods are marked with barcodes which the machines are able to detect to determine the amount of the beverage (ristretto or cappuccino), and add the right amount of water. This eliminates the need for a separate container of milk and makes it simpler to make the perfect espresso or coffee.
In terms of quality in terms of quality, the Vertuoline machines produce a crema that's more like the thick foam you find in a traditional coffee shop as opposed to the lighter Crema that is found in the OriginalLine machines. The OriginalLine machines have the best taste however, due to the fact that they create 19 bars of pressure to get the best flavor from the espresso ground.
The more modern VertuoLine machine uses a process called Centrifusion which spins the capsules faster and equally than the Original Line machine. This improves the speed of the time that the water is infused and enhances the overall quality of the drink. The Vertuoline machines also employ a lower temperature in order to speed up extraction and improve the strength of the coffee.
3. Original
This entry-level Original machine is a good choice for those who don't have lots of space or budget to invest in a bigger machine. It has smaller tanks and capsule container, but manages 19 bars of pressure. This is enough to make the espressos and coffees most people buy Nespresso for.
The machine has a minimalist black design and the top-facing buttons manage all functions from turning on to rinsing or making a cup. This approach is common among Nespresso machines and makes them easy to understand and operate.
Another benefit of this model is that it can be used with milk, and it comes with a jug that can be used to make drinks with foam added. The machine has 11 settings for the temperature of milk to alter the taste of your coffee, latte, or lattes. It can also make both longer and shorter cappuccinos and latte.
The model comes with buttons that are labeled, making it simple to select beverages. The base of the holder for capsules has raised squares for controlling the amount of pressure applied to each pod to achieve the desired size. This lets you regulate the amount of pressure that is applied to each pod and also makes it easier to determine when the machine is in need of descale. The machine can also be used with capsules from different brands, such as Dualit's Nespresso compatible capsules.
4. Creatista
If you're seeking an Nespresso machine that can make both milk-based and espresso drinks it's the model for you. Breville (known in Europe as Sage) is the producer of this latest addition to Nespresso Creatista. If you prefer a more traditional method you can also opt to manually froth the milk.
The Creatista's fast heat-up time is a further excellent feature. It is able to reach temperature in 3 seconds, which makes it faster than other Nespresso machines. The design of the machine is elegant and stylish with a stainless steel body with brushed finish that looks stunning on any countertop. The high-resolution screen makes it easy to use the machine for setting up, cooking food and even maintaining it. The machine comes in four colors including black truffle (pictured) sea salt (pictured), damson blue (pictured) and stainless steel. The Creatista measures 6.7 x 15 x 12 inches (WxDxH). The OriginalLine is the smallest Nespresso machine, which means it can be placed on any counter.
5. CitiZ
This sleek espresso maker from Nespresso occupies less counter space than comparable models. It also comes with a fold-away cup tray that can be used to accommodate larger mugs and recipe glasses. This is a fantastic option for kitchens with smaller spaces and it makes it easier to use the machine when using taller recipes. It's also simple to recreate popular cafe dishes thanks to the 19 bar extraction system and quick heating time.
The basic CitiZ does not come with the milk frother, but you can purchase one separately or purchase it as part of the CitiZ&Milk bundle. This bundle comes with the Aeroccino steamer to make lattes and creamy cappuccinos. You can also make use of capsules that can be reused with this model, though they're not included.
It has a large water tank that can hold 1 liter as well as containers for used capsules that can hold nine to eleven capsules. Unlike the Pixie model, this one does not automatically empty used capsules after the brewing process; you must raise and lower the holder to let the capsules out.
The machine is easy to operate and the sleek design makes it easy to clean. This model comes with the option of descaling, however there's no designated indicator or button, and the process can be difficult to understand. Nespresso suggests running its own descaling solutions after 300 - 1200 cups, based on the hardness of the water. The drip tray and the water tank can be removed for easy cleaning.
